I treated myself to a set of Zendala tiles from Zentangle.com, and they are beautiful.
I have never tried a mandala before, so Maria's strung mandalas have been a good start for me.
These two Zendalas were developed as avatars, the red is mine, the star is for a friend.
I really enjoyed developing these, and I'm looking forward to more in the future.
If you are intimidated (as I was) by the round, Zendala form, you might find these strung tiles very helpful.
I have four friends, for whom I want to make Mandalas, and these were tries that gave me some confidence. I'm so proud of them!
Happy tangling, everyone.
Have you caught the Zentangle(c) bug? I'm hooked! I hope you will journey with me in my learning adventure.
Welcome!

- Life is working full time, being married for 35 years, being mom to a grown daughter, and 2 15 yr old cats. Zentangle has changed my life, since I began to focus on it, in August of 2012. The most wonderful surprise in all of this , has been finding such a warm and wonderful community built around this art form. Without exception those I have encountered are encouraging, friendly, generous of spirit, and great fun! Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome. I hope you will enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy yours.

i love the zendalas! i haven't adventured into making my own zendala string yet, so i love the pre-strung ones. also, did you know there is a zendala dare each week? erin hosts it at http://thebrightowl.blogspot.com/ it's a lot of fun and i think you get the hang of the zendala faster - and fall in love with the process :)
ReplyDeleteyou've done a beautiful job here! and i love the color! your friends are going to love these :)
Thank you so much Alice. They are delighted with the zendalas. I have been eyeing Bright Owls challenge for some time, but these are the first zendalas I have ever done, so I'm not sure how it would go. I'm a little chicken, I guess! I will go have a look at the challenges, and see if I think there's any way I can manage.
DeleteThanks for the encouragement!
