Welcome!

Life is working full time, being married for 35 years, being mom to a grown daughter, and 2 15 yr old cats. Zentangle has changed my life, since I began to focus on it, in August of 2012. The most wonderful surprise in all of this , has been finding such a warm and wonderful community built around this art form. Without exception those I have encountered are encouraging, friendly, generous of spirit, and great fun! Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome. I hope you will enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy yours.

Diva's Challenge #108: Whyz

Happy (almost) Spring, everyone!

It felt particularly important to have an entry for Laura's challenge this week. Even though I am posting a day late, I wanted to be sure to get a tile done.

This is a "Use My Tangle" Challenge, using the tangle "Whyz" by Jane MacKugler, CZT. The challenge can be found, here .

Instructions for Jane McKugler, CZT pattern "Whyz" can be found here.

Although I didn't find the tangle difficult to draw, deciding where to go with it confounded me. In the end I decided on a monotangle, which is a form I love to play with. This is drawn on a 4" Zentangle(C) Apprentice tile.

Since I was already too late to make the deadline (and the slideshow) I decided to challenge myself a little further, and use a watercolor method with my tombows. Over all, I'm pretty pleased with the results.

The center block shows the basic shape of the tangle. The colours throughout are variations. I had a lot of fun with this.

Well, the clocks sprang forward, here in Ontario, Canada last night, and that makes me very happy. I think I'm part plant. I need my daylight.

It's been a beautiful sunny day, and I'm happy to settle in for the evening, to work on ATC's for a swap I'm involved in. Trust me to pick a 25 card swap for a first try. I never do anything half-way, it seems. I had never drawn an ATC in my life before. I will share some of those in the days to come.

In the meantime, live, love and be joyful. I can always find something to be grateful for, even in the darkest of times, and it keeps me going.

Til next time...

    1. Thank you, Helen. I did the outside first, and when I got to the middle, I decided I'd better keep it pretty simple. lol. I was happy with the ribbon look too!
